Punahou wins Iolani Dual Tournament

We finished our short pre-season with a solid showing at the 2009 Iolani Dual Meet Tournament. The Boys edged out Del Oro (CA) 36 – 34 to repeat as tournament champions while the Girls beat Pearl City 36 – 27 to capture the first-ever Girls title at the Iolani Duals.
The Boys’ tournament featured 22 teams, including 7 from the mainland. Punahou entered two boys teams, with our B team also making it to the championship round.
The Girls wrestled an 8-team, double-elimination tournament with all the teams coming from Hawaii.
