PICTURE DAY – 12/5
On Friday, the Intermediate Wrestling Team will be having their official “picture day”. Coach Kena has notified the equipment personnel, and we hope the team uniforms will be ready for the wrestlers that day (by the end of practice on Wednesday, we hadn’t heard for sure). We expect further details on Thursday, with a possibility that the team will be changing into uniforms at the practice room bathrooms just before practice on Friday (that’s what happened last year).
Picture taking is supposed to commence at 4:00 p.m. in Forrest Hall. You are welcomed to bring your cameras at that time. However, practice will continue after picture taking until its normal finish time – @ 5:15 p.m.
PUNAHOU WRESTLING “PARENT’S NIGHT” – 12/6 3-6 PM
Remember, Punahou Wrestling’s annual “Parent’s Night” is on December 6, 2008 (Saturday) from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Mamiya Science Center. If you’re unfamiliar with the Mamiya Science Center, your best bet is to make your way to the center atrium area on the first floor. Booster items will be on sale in the Gates Work Room on your center left as you enter the atrium area, and the formal presentation will be in the Cornuelle Lecture Hall, to the right of the atrium area toward the front of the building.
Coach Kena has asked that all parents of Intermediate Wrestlers try to attend. Included will be presentations by Punahou Head Coach Matt Oney, Assistant Head Coach Jim Takatsuka, the Punahou Athletic Training Department (usually Head Trainer Glenn Beachy), other coaches including, hopefully, Coach Kena, and Varsity Team Parents.
The presentations are typically informative as well as inspiring, especially for those new to the program.
Team logo wear and items will also be on sale both before and after the formal presentation portion of the evening. Everyone is urged to visit the logo wear sale. For the Wrestlers, it is a great source of pride and team unity to wear their shirts and carry their team bags to school, tournaments, and around the community. Profits from these sales go to support Punahou Wreslting’s many wonderful events throughout the year. Please show your support.
We also hope to have an official Intermediate team “sign up” sheet for assistance at tournaments, supplying snacks and drinks, and to make sure our contact information is accurate.
