2008 NHSCA Academic All-Americans
The National High School Coaches’ Association recently announced its 2008 Academic All-American selections. Hawaii had 5 honorees – all from Punahou Wrestling!
Congratulations to:
Daniel Chow (Senior) – Three-time state champion with 23-1 record at 145 pounds; four-time state place winner; career record 94-6. Earned 3.61 GPA and scored 1370 on the SAT.
Chad Taniguchi (Senior) – Finished 25-5 and fourth in state at 140 pounds. Earned 3.8 GPA and scored 30 on the ACT and 1370 on the SAT.
Maika Nagata (Junior) – Finished 32-6 and third in state at 130 pounds; three-time state place winner. Earned 3.75 GPA and scored 1400 on the SAT.
Reid Oshiro (Junior) -State champion with 26-3 record at 125 pounds; three-time state place winner; career record 68-14. Earned 3.49 GPA and scored 1320 on the SAT.
Chrissy Chow (Freshman) – Girls state champion with 20-3 record at 114 pounds. Earned 3.76 GPA.
